To ensure proper payments and to minimize errors, claims submitted in January of 2026 will be manually reviewed and may result in initial delays.
Timing of Claim Payments
Claims are paid every week on the following cadence:
Monday
- Initiate check run
- EFT payment files sent to the bank (Comerica)
- 835 sent to clearinghouse
Thursday
- Settlement date for EFT
- Check date for paper checks
- Checks/Explanations of Payment mailed
- Explanations of Payment PDFs available on provider portal.

Q: What payment options does Zelis offer providers?
A: Zelis offers flexible payment options to allow you the freedom to get paid in the way that works for you:
- ACH+: A fee-based direct deposit option with access to the payments portal.
- Check: Paper checks by mail without access to the payments portal.

Q: How does enrolling with Zelis differ from ACH payments through my payer?
A: Enrolling with Zelis provides access to a single secure platform to manage electronic claim payments and data from 550+ payers:
- One payment stream: ACH or VCC.
- One data stream: Remittance data sent to your clearinghouse, practice management system, or downloadable.
- One portal: View all payment and remittance info in one place.
- One client services team: One contact for all payer claims in the Zelis Payment Network.
Q: What software do I need?
A: No specific software is needed. The Zelis payments portal is accessible via web browser. For automation, Zelis can send data to your clearinghouse or practice management system.

Q: How long does it take to enroll?
A: Enrollment time depends on your practice size and selected payment option:
- VCC: Immediate activation for future payments.
- ACH+: Typically 7–10 business days due to account verification steps.
